Democratic state Sen. Aisha Wahab is projected to win California's 14th District special election runoff, overcoming millions in spending from AIPAC and other groups.
Democratic state Sen. Aisha Wahab is projected to win the special election runoff to finish former Rep. Eric Swalwells term in California's 14th District, overcoming millions of dollars spent by pro-Israel groups in support of Swalwell. The outcome comes after a contentious campaign in which AIPAC poured significant funds into backing the incumbent. Wahab's victory marks a rare instance where a candidate from outside the establishment has won a high-profile seat in California.
